I mean your real estate past, present and future to be specific. We have all made the wrong decisions in our real estate lives. We did or didn’t buy that property, sold in a bad market and lost money or bought at the top of the market and suffered for years, etc. The past for many of us is made up of “failures” or setbacks. These events shape our attitude in the present time and influence our future greatly.[googmonify]4494413162:right:250:250[/googmonify]
The fact is these three components are intertwined. If you can’t come to terms with your past “mistakes” and carry the load to the present, you can not possibly be experiencing the present, discerning the right opportunities – or avoiding the bad ones. You keep making the same mistakes you did in the past. And if you are not in the present making the right decisions then you cannot dream about the future. Your attention is scattered and your energy is sapped. Without dreams of a better future, hopes and aspirations for you and your family, there will be nothing to aim for, to win. Life becomes mundane and you become a semi-vegetable.
To be alive is to engage life. To take the beating and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the moon, YES! Perhaps we are not here to solve the mystery. Maybe we are here to say yes to life, no matter how it unfolds. Perhaps we are not meant to discover the secret of the rose. We are here to be in awe of the rose. To be in awe means you’re in the present moment, joyful and grateful, and without the negative impact of the past.
This is why you need to begin with the healing first before you can move on. Realize that you could have, and probably should have done better, but as the poet Omar Khayam reminds us 1,000 years ago, “the moving finger writes and having writ moves on. Nor all thy piety nor with can lure it back to cancel half a line nor all thy tears wash out one word of it”. Your past is just as old as the Trojan War! It is gone, get over it.
If you were to do it all over again without the benefit of the hindsight you would have done the same things, made the same “mistakes”. Just acknowledge that and forgive yourself for the mistakes you made. You can call it wisdom. Once the healing of your past takes place your attention, as if by a miracle, becomes laser focused on the present. And this is where you can make all the right moves because you’re tapping into your wisdom (accepting past experiences without judgment). And while this is happening another magical dimension opens to you. You begin to dream about the future, your future and that of your loved ones. This dream is not anxiety or worry or even concern. It’s pure visualization with full perception! And there is no greater motivator in life than seeing your future unfolding before your very eyes. Try it and it works. I guarantee it.
