Recently I returned from a trip to Italy. I traveled throughout the country and was mesmerized by it’s history and culture. Of all the magnificent places I visited, the one that touched me the most was Assisi, where St. Francis was laid to rest. St. Francis of Assisi was the founder of the Franciscan order of monks. He approached life with joyousness and a love of nature, calling all living beings his brothers and sisters.
St. Francis has a simple prayer which is world-renowned. This simple prayer has helped me overcome many adversities with great self-confidence. So, it’s only appropriate that I pay respect to this great human being who has influenced the lives of millions of people. I suggest you print this prayer and read it everyday. It will bring you good fortune.
Lord, make me an instrument of Your Peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sew love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy;
O Grand Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are both born to eternal light
